I took this photograph along the banks of the Little Zigzag stream in northern Oregon. The stream is fed by snow melt from nearby Mount Hood, and it runs through the bottom of a lush canyon. It is a beautiful green, quiet place.
This little island (called Keopuka Rock) is located off of the northern coast of Maui. I think it is an interesting bit of volcanic geography. It’s a small island (only about 470 ft long), but with its abruptly protruding vertical rock walls, it has an interesting personality.
