I photographed several of these crayfish in the Kern River in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains.  After a while they became curious of the camera and approached to check it out. They are odd little creatures.

I took this photograph off the coast of the Monterey peninsula.  This humpback whale was repeatedly breeching. It’s pretty amazing to watch.  When the whale impacts the surface of the water it makes a booming sound that travels long distances.

This is an aerial photograph that I took of the river system entering the northern Grand Canyon system.  It sure is a beautiful, arid, and rugged environment.

This is an aerial photograph that I took along the northern coast of Maui.  The coastline is rugged and beautiful with jungle running down from the mountings to the clifftops overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
