I always try to step outside and take a look at the moon on nice clear nights. I especially like when the moon is in its first quarter phase because the angle of the light casts nice shadows across the craters.

I’d love to see what it looks like when you photograph the moon at just a sliver, although I know that is trickier as it sets while it is still twilight at that phase.
