I took this photograph in a small, clear stream that was running through a green forest along the King River in Alaska.

Warthogs are so awesome.  I super like their quirky personalities.  I took this photograph in Tanzania in an area that had quite a few warthogs.  The afternoon that I photographed this momma warthog and baby, we clocked another warthog running almost 30 miles an hour along the side of our Landcruiser.  It’s funny to see them run through tall grass because you can see their tail sticking straight up as they run.  It’s also interesting to watch them eat and drink because they can’t bend their necks very well, so they kneel to get closer to the ground.  They are cool creatures and have a ton of personality.

I took this photograph along an awesome clear, cold stream in south-eastern Alaska.  It’s neat to run across places that are super pristine.

I’m amazed how California can be so dry, but all that it takes is one rain, and the arid land turns green and explodes into wildflowers.  I took this photograph just a few steps from the San Andreas Fault in Carrizo Plain.  It’s a neat area.

I photographed these two in a larger group of turkeys in Bosque Del Apache in central New Mexico.  The variety of odd animal caricaturists that show up in nature is super cool.  It’s neat that in the same habitat there are creatures that are as different as turkey and javelina.

This colorful little fellow is a Cucumber Beetle.  I understand that they can be quite devastating to agricultural crops, but I had to stop and appreciate its bright colors and the glossy finish on its shell.

I’d like to go back to the Serengeti someday.  It had an interesting feeling there that I didn’t expect; it had a soft, warm, comforting feeling, and yet at the same time, it had a feeling of tension.  It sure is a cool place.  The wildlife diversity/density in east Africa is pretty amazing. I took this image on the western side of the Serengeti.  The tall grass and acacia trees were all full of life at every turn.

I love all the iridescent colors on these little Anna’s hummingbirds.  Every fall I look forward to photographing them as they come down from the Sierra Nevada mountains to the warmer lower elevations.
