It’s amazing how much seems missing from the 4th photo in the series and I know there isn’t much color there to remove!

I agree. Color is wonderful ( I’m really enjoying this week’s Michael Fuchs Calendar photo with its brilliant blues and greens). But your black and white photos are elegant.
