One of my favorite dune fields is the Panamint Dunes. They are tucked away at the northern end of the Panamint Valley and have a nice localized appearance. The dunes are surrounded on three sides by a large escarpment that frames the dunes in an interesting setting. I took this photograph from the open side of a light aircraft.

I love the fresh mountain streams in the pacific northwest. I took this photograph in a lush green forest on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. It is such a beautiful area.
This photograph really embodies some of my favorite things about the pacific coast; the rough water, the rocky shoreline, the smell of the salt in the air, the golden evening light, and the sounds of sea lions barking.

This is a Vervet Monkey that I photographed on the northwest side of Kilimanjaro near the Tanzania-Kenya border. These monkeys are fairly prevalent in the area. They have an interesting disposition, and they make a roucous in the morning from the treetops.

I didn’t originally intend that this image was one that I would want to keep, but I think there are several interesting things going on, so I decided to share it anyway. I took this long exposure while I was setting up my camera for a meteor shower one night. The bright star in the center is the North Star (Polaris). It’s interesting to note that Polaris is very close to the rotational axis of the earth, but not quite perfectly aligned. I like that you can see a portion of the milky way as an area of denser stars on the right side of the image. It’s also interesting to note that there is a lot of color variation in the stars.
