It’s impressive how well camouflaged the little tidepool Sculpin are along the Pacific coast. They can be super hard to spot in small tidepools, but when you zoom in on them, it’s interesting to note that they are often covered in bright yellow lines and blue dots. They sure blend in well. This one it only about an inch long.
Bosque Del Apache is a pretty special place. So full of life.
I appreciate leaves. There are so many different shapes and sizes.
I like all the variety of corals. Some are soft; some are hard. Some are smooth; some are sharp. Some are covered in grooves; some are big flat plates. I took these images in a relatively small area in the Great Barrier Reef. It’s pretty amazing how many variations there can be even in a small area.
I wish I could go to the moon someday. It would be interesting to see such a sterile landscape in person.
We camped at this spot for a few days near Portage, Alaska. It’s a really pretty area with a lot of wildlife. When traveling, it’s nice to slow down sometimes and get to know a place a little.
This is a little gopher snake that visited our garden in California. It’s neat when wildlife comes to your property for a visit. I like all of the patterns on its head and body. Neat little animal.
I took this photograph at about midnight just north of the artic circle in the Yukon. We were camped on the ridge of a hill overlooking this valley. It was a really pretty place, but a cold wind was whipping down the valley all night. This view is facing east with the midnight sun just above the northern horizon. It’s neat to experience the midnight sun of the arctic summer.
