I was surprised how close this puffy little Anna’s Hummingbird let me get for this photograph. Hummingbirds are such amazing little creatures. I’ll never get tired of their bright colors or crazy social antics. And, if only I could fly like that…..
I took this over/under photograph on a tributary of the King River in Alaska. The fresh runoff was super clear. The small stream wound its way through a green forest of young trees. As I took this image, butterflies darted around. A good memory of a beautiful place.
A nice little forest toadstool. I took this photograph in a beautiful green forest in eastern Alaska. The forest floor in this area was covered in many different types of mushrooms of assorted sizes and colors. In hindsight, I wonder if any of them were bioluminescent.
I photographed this herd of Muskox resting on a river island in the Alaskan Arctic. Despite being nearly 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle, it was over 85 F that say, and the Muskox were resting on patches of river mud struggling to stay cool.
