I love the colors and textures and the patterns made by the feathers are amazing. Those babies blend so well with the stones that I had to look twice to find them all. Thanks for sharing these!
You are totally right Mary. Those little baby quail were the perfect size and color to blend in with the rocks. There were quite a few babies, but it was hard to count how many because they were really hard to spot.
I think the diversity in birds is pretty impressive. I find it can be a little tricky to get good detail with birds because these are always on the move. They are a fun challenge.
Have you identified all of these? I know the first one is a hummer. The last one is beautiful!

The last one is a Scarlet-Chested Sunbird in Africa. It’s colors are really beautiful.
They are:
1) Female Anna’s Hummingbird
2) Western Oriole
3) Turkey Vulture
4) California Quail
5) Scarlet-Chested Sunbird

Love the puffy hummingbird!

That hummingbird was very puffy when I photographed it. It was fairly cold out and it seemed to be warming up in the sun.
I like that you can see all the pollen on top of its beak.
