The detail of the texture and topography of the wing in the third photo is stunning. I also really like the DOF in the first image and the sunlight glow showing the depth of color and furry body in the last photograph!
Thanks for the note. I find it neat that even with furry bodies and textured wings, they fly as well as they do. It’s interesting that the physics of butterfly flight is so much different than that of birds or airplanes.
I find that butterflies can be a bit tricky to photograph sometimes. They often fly away right when I focus a shot. They are quite pretty though. I’m always impressed by how far they migrate, too. It amazes me that a creature so small and seemingly delicate can fly hundreds of miles.
